Ways to score in exam

There’s a solid way to score well in exam, that I managed to figure out and decided to share here with the millions of people who are on the same boat as me..

start worshipping

start worshipping

Yes. Start worshipping, offer joss papers and if possible, put joss papers in your water before drinking!

Note: Ofcoz im just kidding!  If this method really works, then you probably won’t see so many drop-outs!  Anyway if you manage to proof that it works, do update me =) thanks. LOL!

Singapore Canon photomarathon

Took part in the Canon photomarathon yesterday and it was definitely a fun and learning experience on photography!  The photomarathon was hosted at Suntec City Convention Hall, starting from 7am as registration till 9.30pm prize giving ceremony.  The themes were released at 9am, 1.30pm and 4.30pm and the themes were ‘change’, ‘dreams’ & ‘freedom’ respectively.  We had a very long walk today, from Suntec to Esplanade, to Clarke Quay, to Suntec again, to Fort Canning, to Suntec, to Bugis, and it was physically taxing for us!  And unexpectedly, we bumped into 2 of my ex-camp mates, thus we sticked together for the shots!  Here’s some images that I’ve taken during the exercise:

freedom!

The following are my humble entries into the respective themes:

change

change

Change in weather (i.e. the sun), and not just that, change in a person’s character through shadow (reflection) but I know it doesn’t show that meaning, gees.  Alot more to learn!

freedom

freedom

The only gantry that’s reducing the heavy traffic in singapore; the ERP!  FREEDOM!

And I can’t find the picture that I have submitted for dreams.. hmm… maybe I’ve forgotten what I submitted! =(  Anyway this competition taught me that there’s really good ways to illustrate the above themes and if possible, have a studio and model nearby in case so that you can use them for your theme!  Kudos to those people who actually went all the way to Changi Airport to get their shots but distance isn’t the winning factor and neither is the equipment (yes im procrastinating, no need ‘L’ lens for this kinda competition since PNS also can take part!).. And great, we don’t even know who’s the judges behind the doors, thus we don’t know what kind of shots they’re expecting from us!

I think its not the quality that the judges are looking for, its Creativity with highest priority, then composition, then quality!  Photography competition is like this!

And a random shot of us by another photographer named Samantha in Bugis,

my new 18-200mm movearound lens

my new 18-200mm movearound lens

I finally bought this little chick for $500 (2nd hand!).. its my new baby now.. probably gona replace my 18-55mm lens since its so small when its not extended:

18-200mm kept

18-200mm kept

Wahahaha! Im so over the moon now! =)

Note: the lens was really bad at night when I tried to test, the focus kept on hunting but with this price and range, I can pretty much stick with it and use it mostly for day time purpose.  If the shot’s need to be taken at low light, I guess I’ll still need that flash or change to my 50mm f1.8!

Still procrastinating

Books seem to be a very distant enemy of me now.  I feel boring look at books; I feel lost looking at the formulaes; I feel helpless.  There always seem to be something distracting me from studies.  Many-a-times I fell asleep during lectures after half an hour of fight with the ZZZ monster (the monster that cause me to sleep!)  It was grown in me during the army days, and without enough time to adapt to my civilisation life, it did not cease in my life at all.  It’s growing stronger and stronger and I hate it.  GET AWAY FROM ME ZZZ monster (im getting depression!).

Nevertheless, despite been challenged by the quizes before my term break, I thought it was really a wake up call for me to fight the monster but no.  I gave in to him effortlessly again now.

Ofcourse, I would have found tons of reasons why I shouldn’t be here studying in the first place; should probably start working and earn money since my family can’t really support me but NO.  I know they would do their very best to see me through this almost-final phase of education and bring some honour to the family.  Many people would see this as normal, but not my family.  To them, I would be the first grandson to have achieve a degree and they would be proud of me.

I may have to disappoint them but hopefully, lady luck should shine some charm on me and let me go through all these smoothly.  And lady luck please help me fight the ZZZ monster.

Get him away from me!

And I will learn not to procrastinate because its either DO IT NOW or NEVER.
