exam results out.

I am falling into deep depression soon. This semester’s result was a good taste of what its like to study in University and the standards really aint like polytechnic. With so much studying done, I could have at least scored a B back then but now, I got 4C and 1D+! Damn it.

I was so near to the academic warning letter I think. This is a very good warning to me to fucking start organising my study life before things get out of control again.

What an instant turn-off to end this year 2008.

What makes me proud as a Singaporean

I’ve read in other blogs about how they’re proud to be singaporean and its of quite typical entries.  There are definitely more than that to be proud of Singaporean.  I don’t see the 3Ks (kia su, kia si, kia bo which, in direct translation, afraid to lose, afraid to die, afraid of wife respectively) and the lahs, wahs, etc. (singlish) are the only ways to identify our proudness over our motherland.

What Im really trying to say is, to be able to feel proud as a Singaporean, we should look from another point of view, preferably a foreigner.  I think its disgusting to have people snatching que, queing up for things they don’t really know but just queing for the sake of ‘FREE’ and whats with the lah, wah!  Its like, what modifications have you done to my mother language English?   Why is there so many undefinied words and not explained in dictionary (but maybe you can find them on wikipedia because it can be filled by anyone?)

What I really feel proud as a Singaporean, is that this amazing small red dot has its ability to rule itself as a country (comparing to the neighbour countries).  Ofcourse, small is good because it means easier management and thus we do not need as much politician parties to join and there won’t be chaos as everything in here we talk with black and whites (and maybe reds), rules and laws!  Appeal is the only option.

Its so damn safe.  We may not have the luxury of the 4 seasons but hey!  there’s no natural disaster(except for the almost flood that happened months ago), its good a trade already isnt it?  And guys may slaughter me for being proud of this but hey, Im really proud of this.  We have a compulsory national service system so that we can protect ourselves and assist other countries if they need (e.g. helping out in some countries after the Tsunami hits).

Oh yea, did I forgot to mention, Singapore is not just a food paradise.  It has made its marks on things that people would never thought of us doing it!  E.g. our famous zoo, the F1 race, the upcoming Youth Olympics 2010 and NUS is among the top 30 universities of the whole world!  With the rate of tourism is rapidly increasing and with the upcoming integrated resort with casino, it is said to attract more tourist and thus more revenue for our nation!

And we’re so clean, until our public toilets are inspected and graded so that those toilets that failed the test will have to be re-done!  Our roads are clean and filled with green trees and grasses, you will never miss the road because the road signs are really big and ample time is given before you make the turn!  You won’t have the fear to drive at night because most of the roads here are so properly lighted!

We have our very own Airport tower which is almost identical to the Eiffel tower (Im talking about the height =x) and we have our very own Esplanade which is similar to the turtle-like structure in Hong Kong (from the outside, just that its spiked so that it can keep itself shelted from rain. ha ha. that was so funny.).

So what makes me really proud as a good old Singaporean are our amazing achievements & safety!  Keep it up Singapore for 2009!

MirrorImage xMAS celebration 08

Joined my girlfriend’s company for christmas celebration at Waraku in Cuppage road, watched a performance at cuppage plaza by danzpeople (and Lilian) and followed by KTV at the partyworld in Liang Court..  Drank & Sang our lungs out till 2am!

This rose was bought by yours truly and pinky for Lilian who performed with the danzpeople for their performance in celebration for their first year anniversary!  I love the post process.  Bloodly red.

Then went to Marina Square this afternoon for lunch.. had our favourite ban mian and you mian, watch christmas carol, helped sunny to collect his flash diffusers, wasted $20 on the ‘UFO catcher’ thing of soft toys..  I have a love-hate relationship with these machines!  Sometimes its too easy, and most of the times it’s not easy.  Damn it!

Walked to Bugis to get our mum handbags, and then met Kelvin at the MRT station before heading to Somerset to meet Miguel as he invited us to join him and his friends pre-xmas celebration at his friend’s place in Somerset.. it was really a fun party man.. get to meet new friends and play alittle bit of rockband..

Twilight the movie

The main lead Edward is really cool.  His beautiful mesmerising eyes changes color, he could read people’s mind and his body is filled with cold skin.  He doesn’t eat, drink or sleep.. I wonder does he smokes?

With the above description, I think you could roughly guess that he’s a vampire already.. If not, you should just probably go catch the movie and watch it for yourself =)

The romance was a 5/5, a hit on the mark!  But the thrills was a 3/5.  I was expecting the actions similar to underworld thus it was a small disappointment to me.

The next touching story that will make me pay for my cinema seats will be ‘Marley & me’ which is about a Golden Retriever and her family.. =)

Paco Rabanne

I don’t have much fetish for perfumes but my dearest baby bought me this little black rose perfume to wish me well for my exams about 2months ago (oh yea this is a late post man..)  Have been using this brand for 2years during my army career.. its sweet and alittle fruity and thats how I attracted her =p
