Capitalism: A Love Story

Nov
8

This is a Micheal Moore movie, America’s most hated film director.  Bought a pair of tickets to watch this movie with Pinky, thinking that it would be a romantic show; so much for the ‘A Love Story’ at the back of title.  Ironically, we missed the word Capitalism (but search my vocabulary, its not even in my dictionary)  So the first 15minutes of the show hypnotised Pinky to her dreams, sleeping comfortably on my shoulder.  Not wanting to spend my money to sleep in a theater, I encouraged myself to stay awake throughout the session and Im so proud of it.

If you’re not a very political or patriotic person, the movie isn’t right for you in the first place.  I don’t even care about the election in my nation, why should I care about the states, moreover it doesn’t really concern us?  But you’re so damn wrong!

The movie gives a good perspective on how Capitalism has affected the US for the past 8 years under the management of ‘you-know-who’, whos been making the Rich people richer and the poor people poorer by taking away everything they have, irregardless of their situation.  That was obviously something that wasnt shown in the media, did it?  And how companies benefited profited from the employees who have died by buying insurance on their behalf and stating themselves as beneficiary.

And oh, this made me recall why people would vote for the President, Mr Barack Obama, one who emphasized on CHANGE during his debates for election.  They have been on the down side for the past 8 years and someone should end the deed, not continuing it.  The election results flashed in the movie was also something that wasnt showed on our screens.  People actually CRIED because of the president they voted for has won!

In Sing ka pore, FAT HOPE.  Why would you cry?  I dont even remembering there was 2 parties fighting for the position?  Even if there was a Good and Bad president to choose from, with the white collars in the cabinet, do you think the so-called bad president can have things done his way?  Unless the white changes to become the black, then that will be a worrying point.

Miss Singapore, Ris Low Resigns

Sep
29

Been famous for the past few months for her poor command of English and had her interview on youtube with more than 200,000 views, this Miss Ris Low (aka) Miss Singapore Universe 2009 was in no way low profile.

Seriously, I won’t even care who won the Miss Singapore title until the youtube URL came into my MSN by my friends for mocking at her english and singlish, BOOMZ.  Pronouncing prints as preens, STEEL studying etc.  And I think if she had enough grooming for her competition, she should not just walk/behave like a model, but TALK like a model.

A bigger news hit her when she was charged for credit card fraud and they intend not to let the media know.  When you try to hide something and people find out, it will only create more trouble and woes.

And my friend even found her name on Wikipedia now.  She’s globally known!  If not for the competition, she could have gotten her conviction without anyone knowing.

Extraordinary V Conference 2009

Sep
13

It was my first time attending this conference.  Looking at the title, it MAY have sounded formal but its not.  It was a comedy play by FLY Entertainment with local comedians such as Irene Ang and Chua En Lai.  If you are a Singaporean and you haven’t heard of them (or at least, Irene Ang), shame on you seriously.  She acted in a local famous comedy called ‘Phua Chu Kang’ as the main lead’s wife, thus you should have known her!  Anyway, thats not the point.. =x

On a 2hour show:

(In ZIRCA, Singapore)

They did the opening act with introduction from PCD and their faces cropped onto the MVs, then danced onto the center stage with their fake boobies and shaky butts.  Then Irene Ang started her standup comedy solo with 10mins of hilarious jokes.

(Irene Ang as Karen Mok queing outside LV shop in ION Orchard)

(Chua En Lai as a spoilt brat but an ambassador for a ‘good-family’ organisation)

(Irene Ang as Guan Yin Ma, all artistes as swimmers)

Princesspinky collaged the photo so its not according to sequence.  While the local politicians was looking for jobs for their people, they went to see Guan Yin Ma for help.  Its hard to explain alot of things here in words but the money was really well spent.  $48 for 2hours of hilarious crap jokes and 1 mug of beer was indeed satisfying.

The highlights of the event:  ’The MRT say what circle-line thing, the shape of the new circle line looks more like a cock than a circle!’
‘Why u all wanna act?  U can say CB but u can’t say virgina is it?  Come say with me, Viiirrrr-Ggggiiii—nnnnaaaa!’

The night was fking awesome.  If  you ask me whether I will attend the conference again, I assure you I will if there are tickets!

GAGA in Singapore

Aug
21

My sister has been so eager to watch Lady Gaga perform thus we bought her tickets in early July:

Actual day:

Damn massive crowd.  Poor crowd control and ventilation by LAMCproductions

No doubt, thats me and my sister:

Warm up act by DJ Inquisitive and Beatboxer Dharni:

This is their performance in Mediacorp channel 5’s Live and Loaded show:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRQR935IaFw

And this is Dharni performing in zouk:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZXctI6bbZI&feature=related

I seriously dont understand why are there so many mofos who think that the opening act was lousy.  Maybe the songs was not a really right choice for some BUT Gees they shouldn’t criticise others when they cant do it la seriously.. I will be speechless if they got up the stage to proof that they’re better..  So what even if you’re better?  If you’re an audience, be an audience and let the performer do his job..  Theres always someone better down the stage, we all performers know that.. No matter what, I believe there are always people who can do better down the stage but they know that they should respect the performers.

Lady Gaga Concert Opening:

And towards the end:

Lady GAGA said: “Be yourself and follow your dreams.  If some one stops you from doing so, tell them Lady Gaga told them to FUCK OFF!!”  And when someone tell her to Fuck Off instead, she sings to them… POKER FACE!

A Tribute To Micheal Jackson

Jun
26

My childhood idol, Micheal Jackson has been taken away, going back into arms of god. I liked his music, his style and his talent except his beliefs. I think he should’t have went for all those ‘modification’ to his physical self but still, I think I just like his music and talent.

(Taken from yahoo.com)

Rest well. May your music continue to live and you always be in our hearts. <3

Pussycat Dolls – Domination Tour Singapore 2009

Jun
6

The reason why we had to watch this concert is because there were rumours spreading around on the Internet that Nichole (the main lead singer) might be leaving the Pussycat Dolls(PCD) for her solo career but a google search indicated that the rumour is untrue and she will not leave the PCD.

And if you notice from my pictures below, yeah 1 of the babe, Jessica didnt perform because she wasnt feeling well (once again, rumours?)  Im not sure about that but the concert didn’t seem COMPLETE as they lack of a person and the gaps between the team, there always seem to have a room for 1.

I would have enjoyed the concert if the people around me and my dearest would stand up and groove to the music and being the first 5rows at the front, we know we shouldnt stand up and block the view of the audiences behind.  The other areas seem more lively than ours for sure, and music is really regardless of age; I saw a family with 40s/50s grandma walking in, and grooving!

To make our day better, class95 fm DJs, Glenn Ong and Jean Danker were just sitting right infront of us =) JD’s really pretty and so is Glenn, and his tatoo!

A day with the cast of Ultimatum

May
25

If you’re a Singaporean and the word Ultimatum sounds unfamiliar to you, perhaps you should try to watch some local dramas some time. Yes, I agree there isn’t much nice shows by the locals BUT, this show is different. Remember ‘the unbeatables’ decades back when you were still having your pacifier or still swimming around, then you wouldn’t really recall it. That kind of drama is what we always want and something not always delivered to us. The ‘golden path’ was another drama that can make me go home just to watch that 1 hour every weekday.

Thanks to I-Weekly, I went with my dearest baby girl to queue at the front of the stage so that we can capture good shots of the casts. start drooling girls!

ELVIN! cute and handsome..

And we managed to have a hand-shaking session with the casts which was totally not in our plans initially.  my girl wanted to shake fann’s hand so badly and I can’t resist Felicia either. Hahaha..

PS: it is indeed my lucky day today. Imagine after wasted $10 on the UFO catcher, today I managed to recuperate my losses by winning 2 softtoys with just $4 at the UFO catches. I love these machines, at times.

Greatest Concert missed – Coldplay

Mar
26

Alright. Im going to whine about my loss of NOT being able to purchase Coldplay’s concert tickets.. Feeling kind of sad that I was unable to pay for it =/ anyway it was long sold out before the concert was publicised. There are many Coldplay fans in Singapore =) Here’s the mash up video of their performance in Singapore, from the mid/far range seats:

AND MY FAVOURITE SONG: YELLOW

The concert definitely LOOKS and SOUNDS better than the concerts I’ve EVER been to.  (mcr, a7x, rja are all really nth compared to them! Just LOOK AT THE AUDIENCE AND THEIR ENTHUSIASM!)
